Premier women earn a point with a tie
November 19, 2009
Saturday, November 14th the United Premier women faced Vic West Premier in Victoria and tied 2-2. United went down early in the game, giving up a goal and conceding a penalty kick before the 20th minute before finding their game and outplaying their opponents. With near constant pressure, United finally found the net shortly before halftime when Andrea Strebel knocked in a loose ball in front of the net. Switching to a more attacking system, the pressure finally payed off when late in the game Jackie Churchill was able to score off a breakaway to tie the game up. Despite several more quality attacks, the ladies were unable to put another one away. Next game against Gorge is Saturday, November 21st, 6pm at Merle Logan Turf in Nanaimo.
